Traces of autumn

Today was a good day.  Mom, dad, and I went to Dade City (my first time) to check out an antique fair.  I love antiques. I love things that are old, worn, weathered, eclectic, and unexpected. I found some treasures (will post pictures soon) for when I have a place of my own. I can't wait til that day comes.   Dade City is a great little town.  It really reminds me of Mount Dora which is a place I also enjoy visiting.  I look forward to returning during the coming months.  With the holidays coming up they have all kinds of exciting things planned. For me, one store really stood above the rest called, Old City Market. It was a great place with wonderful finds and friendly, welcoming ladies. Below are some pictures I took of their yummy decor which was saturated in oranges, pumpkins, and leaves- everything autumn and Halloween. Very cool. I'm eager to see how they decorate for the Christmas holidays!

That was a good day.

I did this page last year for a scrapbooking store I worked at *very* briefly in Orlando.  I <3 American Crafts and I especially love cutting it to pieces. I painted the edges of the page with MM paint to make it pop and added stickles to a few of the flowers to add some glitz and shine. TFL!

Reveal.

I finally finished the prototype for my class I'll be teaching at the MS Crop for Hope in November. We will be working with a 18x24 canvas. My class will have 10 openings and will be two parts. Get ready to cut, paint, and use some bling. It should be a great time!

I hope you all like it...

Take a look-see.

Here's a page I did over a year ago.  It's a picture from my second year in college.

Happy Scrapping!

She is....

...amazing. I love her. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to discover her. Her name is Missy Higgins and she's from Australia. She has a very unique and soulful sound.  To me, she represents what's missing from music these days. She's playing on my profile now. Check her out, you won't be sorry.

Big News!

I just got word from Gerri-Anne that September and October's kits are in the mail.  I am officially a member of KnK's Design Team- weeeeeeeee! This month, I will be introduced as the Guest Designer for October and will begin my 6 months as a DT member starting in November. I am so appreciative for this opportunity and can't wait to start creating. I've never had to create pages with a pre-set supply list, but I am up for the challenge!

In other news, I spent last night working on my prototype for the class I'm teaching at the MS Crop for Hope. It's really coming together. Stay tuned for some *hints.* I will say, the colors are very fitting for the time and month (which was just luck, as I knew right away what line of paper I planned to use before I knew what I was doing). I plan to show Jackie the finished project this week so we can start ordering the products I need.

Happy Scrapping!

Studio Calico

During the past few weeks I've been exploring scrapbooking sites on the internet. It's amazing how the world of scrapbooking continues to grow, and at such a fast pace. The number of kit clubs, message boards, and online galleries is astounding.  I've discovered yet another great site called Studio Calico.  Their kits are amazing and this month's kit is no exception. It's very eclectic and fun and I LOVE the Vintage stamp set and assortment of papers in the kit.  I can't believe how much I missed while I was in college.  Time for me to make up for lost time...

Bad Girls Rock!

So how excited am I?!  For those who know me, and are familiar with my scrapping style, you know I love my products, especially patterned paper and embellishments.  I'm all about keeping up with the trends and getting the latest and greatest.  I've recently discovered an amazing kit club called Bad Girls.  Let me tell you, their kits are absolutely fabulous. Like the market, their kits change and adapt to the changing products which become available to scrappers.  This became very apparent when I witnessed the BIG reveal, at 1 am (of course, I was up) this morning, of their September kits.  This month's kit and add-ons are very funky, edgy, and bright. Although, I could have easily bought 2 or 3 add-on kits, I was good, and purchased only the Main Kit  and can't wait to get it in the mail so I can start creating!  What I love most about their kits is they aren't your cookie cutter kits.  We've all seen them- kits that only include paper and products from the same line and are very matchy-matchy.  Instead, they incorporate things from several different manufactuers and even throw in a few "Bad Girls Exclusives" which they make specificially for the kits.
Well, it's 2 am, and perhaps time to go to bed. Perhaps...
